I was having trouble after the last update with my graphs not showing any history… just a flat line.
I read another post on the forum saying to delete the database v2 file and restart. I tried to delete it using the config editor which it gave me a error, but now i cant load home assistant . I have tried rebooting several times with no luck and also am unable to ping the rpi. Any ideas?
I dont have a recent back up so i dont want to load a new sd card and restore if i dont have to.
You deleted the contents of the database file, including all the tables but not the database file. That’s bad.
Do you have samba or SSH set up?
Navigate to your /config
location, delete the database file (not the file contents) and restart, use the terminal:
$ hassio homeassistant check
$ hassio homeassistant restart
No i didnt delete the contents i tried to delete the whole file from the side menu.
I cant access via samba or ssh, i cant even ping.
I just tried to put the sd card into my PC and thats not reckonizing it either. Im guessing the SD card is dead?
The SD card is not formatted to be read by a windows PC. You could try a bootable Linux live CD or a Linux VM.
Do you have snapshots you can restore from (not on the SD card)?
Yeah but i haven’t done one for a while so i will lose a bit of stuff… I know! Im an idiot.
There are also ext drivers for windows which should enable reading it.
I use a program called LinuxReader64 from Disk Internals that will read Linux files.
I don’t use Hassio so I haven’t tried to read an SD card from that system but assuming it’s just a Linux flavor of file system it should probably read it ok.
Thanks for the replies
I have tried reading the SD card using a Linux live cd but the SD card will not show up at all.
I tried using the terminal and in gparted… Nothing!!! The card must be dead.
I now have also realized that all the snapshots I created are all on the SD card too? Are they not saved on a hassio server?
I’m out of ideas now.
I loaded a new SD card card with Hassio but can’t login with my old account … can only make a new one ?
A new install cannot possibly know about your old account info. That account info is on your dead sd card.
