I just setup my new HA green. I set it up with a relatively complicated password which was stored in my password manager. I was able to log in on my iphone (and still logged in). I tried logging in on my ipad with auto typed password from the password manager and it gave me an error. I manually typed the password and it worked. Then I tried logging in through my desktop with auto typed password from my password manager and it did not take. Gave me an error again. I tried typing it manually and still no luck. I read somewhere that if you are still logged in, you can create a new user via Settings/People and I did that. Then it said you can change the owner’s password. There does not seem to be a way to do this. So now my iphone and ipad is logged in with my Owner account and password (which I dont know what it is) and with a different account on my desktop. How can I fix this? I am not sure if the new different account has all the rights to the device.
Try to open up the settings app on your iPhone or iPad and search for accounts and passwords.
Since I was still logged in on my iPhone and iPad, I found a way to change the password on my iPad without having to enter the current password. I did not expect this to work without entering the old password. But it seems like it did.
Good that you solved it!
If you share how you did it, this might be helpful for others with a similar problem.
Well, not sure I can repeat it but I believe I went into my ipad and clicked on my name. And under security, it immediately gave me the option to set a new password without asking me to enter the old one. So I did that, and it worked. I can’t reproduce this because every time I try to, it asks for my current password. So, long story short…not sure how I did it…
