Help Please Kodi and TTS

Good day,

I am trying to execute a TTS message on my Kodi media player but not having any luck in the audio portion of it.

I have my media player configured, as well as the TTS in the configuration.yaml as:

media_player:
  - platform: kodi
    host: 192.168.x.xxx
tts:
  - platform: google_translate
    cache: true
    cache_dir: /config/tts
    time_memory: 300
    base_url: http://192.168.x.xxx:8123
    service_name: google_say

My automation.yaml

- initial_state: 'on'
  alias: 'TTS LibreElec'
  trigger:
      - platform: time
        at: "13:42:00"
  action:
    - service: tts.google_say
      data:
        entity_id: media_player.kodi
        message: "Hello there"

When the automation fires, I can see on my TV, the mp3 filename flashing but no sound accompanies it. I can play the mp3 from the cache folder independently and it plays just fine.

I guess what Iā€™m asking for is, am I missing something in my media player/TV setup that would make the audio come through?, or is this just not a valid use case?

Thanks for the help.

Hi There,
Here for me (maybe) something similar is happening.
If I play:

service: tts.google_translate_say
data:
  entity_id: media_player.libreelec
  message: hello hello there

It will skip the 1st word of the sentence.
Not sure why this is happening, but would this be a timing / processing issue in kodi itself?

(My kodi running on LibreElec on Raspberry Pi 3).

Richard
