Help - Tapo Integrations failing to set up, tried everything, still getting error 500

Hi everyone,

I’m new to Home Assistant.
I’m facing a persistent issue in Home Assistant OS where several integrations fail to set up. The Tapo integration returns a 500 Internal Server Error Server got itself in trouble

I’ve already tried everything I could find, including:

  • Host reboot

  • ha core rebuild

  • ha core restart

  • Removing the Tapo integration and reinstalling

  • Deleting configuration entries

  • Removing HACS and reinstalling it

  • Cleaning .storage

Despite all this, the Tapo integration still fails with error 500, and multiple other integrations refuse to initialize.
I can’t identify what’s blocking it.

Has anyone experienced this kind of integration setup failure?
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

That one worries me. Unless you REALLY know what you are doing here you will break your install…

Aside from that what server are you running (hardware). If you tell me a Pi3 that is the problem…

Try the very good custom integration Tado Hijack. It’s in the HACS.

I did it!
It looks like Home Assistant couldn’t download the plugp100==6.0.1 library, and it turned out to be a DNS issue. I don’t know why my ISP’s DNS wasn’t working, so I removed it and added Google’s DNS instead. After rebooting, everything worked.

So if anyone else runs into this problem: check your DNS settings.
