Help Troubleshooting Insteon Wireless Connectivity

Not sure if this is a problem with my Home Assistant configuration, or a hardware malfunction. Earlier this month all my Insteon devices stopped working, and I traced the problem to my PowerLinc Modem. I had run some updates on Home Assistant but didn’t suspect this correlated and thought the modem was malfunctioning. After attempting (unsuccessfully, possibly due to user error) to physically reset it, I reverted to an old Home Assistant snapshot and everything started working again. EXCEPT for all of my motion and door sensors!

Anyone ever have this issue or have leads on how to resolve it?

If you wake them up with the pair button does the modem see them?

Hey, thanks Justin! I didn’t even consider trying to try pairing them again with the modem. This did the trick. Man, going a few weeks without motion and door sensors and it’s like how did I ever live without these?

Well, I thought it was fixed. I’m not sure what happened. Last night I was able to pair the sensors with the modem, but in the middle of the night Home Assistant crashed. The sensors seem to pair with the modem (mutual beeping when the pairing buttons are pressed), but the entities still show as “Unavailable” in Home Assistant.

Incidentally, I ordered a new modem thinking that was the problem, so I could replace my old one. I’m not sure what the process is for migrating settings from one modem to another. Will Home Assistant’s Insteon integration do that automatically when the configuration is changed to point to a different modem? Or is there a process I’ll need to go through to issue commands to the modem to configure?
