Help using/connecting Bluetooth devices to HA

My HA Yellow (the CM4) has build in bluetooth, however as of the day I used Home Assistant (even before a switched to HA Yellow) I never found any bluetooth device to connect to Home Assistant.

I have read the docs, but I still have no idea how to connect bluetooth devices to my Home Assistant.

Can someone help me getting started on how to connect/search for a bluetooth device via Home Assistant?

I have bluetooth devices connected to the phone a use HA Companion on but nothing shows up in HA.

Specifically what are you expecting to find.

It doesn’t actively scan and find stuff and it does not expose what’s connected to your phone.

After you have a Bluetooth adapter or a Bluetooth proxy adapter showing in HA you have to install an integration to detect your devices.

If it’s BLE you’ll install things like the BLE integration, Beacon, etc. Then THOSE detect your devices.

So you kind of have to know what you’re looking for and install the components first.
