Help with airthings

Hi all. I keep seeing this error in my home assistant logs.

“2025-03-09 23:27:51.636 ERROR (MainThread) [homeassistant.components.airthings_ble.config_flow] Error connecting to and getting data from E4:E1:12:29:AD:0D: E4:E1:12:29:AD:0D - E4:E1:12:29:AD:0D: Failed to connect after 10 attempt(s): No backend with an available connection slot that can reach address E4:E1:12:29:AD:0D was found: The proxy/adapter is out of connection slots or the device is no longer reachable; Add additional proxies (ESPHome Bluetooth Proxy) near this device”

can someone help me figure out what this is?

Isn’t quite clear from the error what you need to do? You’re having issues with the connection and might need more proxies.

It’s very difficult to help you when you don’t provide more information. How are you connecting to the Airthings?

I also have the same error. I have 3 Airthings that I connect and get data with custom ESPHome unit (not proxy).
So how do I disable HA’s airthings_ble from autoscanning Airthings? I have not added Airthings integration but looks like auto scan still runs and detects them.

Installed latest HA update and after reboot HA detected 3 new devices (Airthings) and allowed me to ignore them. So the error and my problem is fixed.
Before the update I had installed and removed Airthings integration. Not sure if that fixed the device detection. Previously detection didn’t work, instead I got those log errors.
