Hi,
I’m able to see my camera connected to my NVR using the Dahua plugin from rroller and it imports the camera sensors as a “device” (I think)
However I don’t get the event data from the device sent to HA. i.e. when motion is detected or a human is detected by the camera, it doesn’t send that status to HA. Can anyone help please? I would absolutely love to know about motion events in HA and have plans for when motion occurs at certain times (night time when no-one is supposed to be there!)
Not sure, but i think that you must enable motion is camera settings to be shown in HA. However, you’ll soon find out that motion is pretty useless on cameras…(triggers way too often).

What do you mean sorry?
I get your last point about motion being useless (and i agree, I am actually looking for the alarm state of the camera which is set up for human detection between certain hours)
I mean go to camera settings (via browser, enter IP of the camera) and enable motion there. Basically you must do all settings in camera, HA only reflects camera’s settings.
Oh theyre all turned on. For example I can see the motion events in the timeline of the cameras app . In home assistant, despite it showing all the different sensors, on the “history” it never shows as having been triggered
So, here’s the thing in my case: i don’t get any motion alarm unless i turn on switch “motion detection” to on (in HA, you have it on your picture and it’s turned off). I just tried and i do get motion alarm if that switch is on, and no alarm if it”s on.
Try to turn it on - if it falls back to off by itself or if you can’t even turn it on then it could be that function is not supported for your camera.
Oh!!! My gosh, I didn’t notice that was actually a toggle. Will try, thanks!
The toggle actually produced an error for me which I broadly see as progress as something is perhaps amiss in the link to the NVR.

Any idea what this could mean please?
Couldn’t say for sure, but i fear that it seems that function is not available for your camera…
