Help with extending Zigbee Network

Hi Folks - I am starting to add more and more Zigbee devices to my network and wanted to ensure I have reliable mesh network going.

I currently use the SkyConnect as my primary coordinator thats conntected to HA on a RPI5 and using the Standard ZHA integration in HA.

i did a bit of research and folks reccomended the Ikea Tretakt Plugs as a good option to extend my network. Which is what I did and have added two addtional ones in the house.

However, i have a couple of Aqara single buttons that just wont work properly. They show up in ZHA, but wont execute any actions at all. One of the Ikea plus is within 2 ft and it still wont execute any actions.

Here is an image of network. The buttons are the circles in Red. Is there anything special I need to do for everything to be working appropriately?

Big thanks in advance.

Aqara devices are notoriously resistent to using better routes if one becomes available.

What usually works is to pair/add the Aqara device again, without deleting it first (although I’ve only used this method on Zigbee2MQTT, I don’t know if it’s possible with ZHA), from the location you intend to use it.

Basically put ZHA into “allow join” mode, then put the Aqara device in pairing mode, and wait.
