I set up HA on a Pi and am logged in on my mobile phone, but I can’t get logged in on the web interface on my PC. I am pretty sure the details are correct, as I changed the password for HA on my phone to ensure that it would match the web interface.
At the command line on the pi, it is asking me to log in but does not recognise my details.
I am intending to move away from the Pi soon and install HA on an unused laptop. Am I better off right now just forgetting about the situation with the Pi and starting afresh? Would I then just log in again?
Thank you for reading
Unfortunately your HA instance would disagree. One thing computers are very good at is comparisons
The answer to your question is most certainly - how much customization have you done? If you have a fully fleshed out and configured install, you really need to get that password thing figured out because you wont be able to backup / restore and login to the new instance without it -
If it’s new and you were just experimenting and dont have any investment in the old install - good time to break ties with it.
Its impossible to know because we dont know your existing investment. But password - that’s a big deal. If you plan to migrate your install, you need it.
Thanks so much your reply Nathan. You’re correct! I must
I have made an error with the passwords . I only have a tiny investment in the devices as I was only seeing what could be done. So I’m binning the pi and going to set up the laptop.
