Help with VOIP and Grandstream configuration

I have successfully got the local voice assistant running. It works from the phone app, I can give it voice commands and it correctly executes the commands and I get voice responses back. I cannot get my HT801V2 with an analog phone to work and I suspect it is a configuration issue.

If I turn off “Allow Calls” for the HT801V2 I get a voice message when I go off-hook telling me that Home Assistant is not configured. If I turn on allow calls when I lift the receiver I get a two-beep tone, the status in Home Assistant shows the voice assistant is listening, but it will not respond to a voice command. I shortly get the two-beep tone again. The status changes between listening and idle.

The tutorial for the Grandstream device shows screens that a completely different then my HT801V2 so I suspect I have newer firmware and the settings might need to be different. I tried the OPUS encoder.

Anyone have this running that can offer some advice?

Thanks,

Danno

Hi Danno, having exactly the same here but without the beep tone. I also get the message ‘not configured’ and when switching to allow calls I get nothing and the status is constantly switching from idle to/from listening. Voice assistant is slow but working when using my iphone.

Edit: if I reload the integration I do get a bling bling sound, nothing else

Please advice us, thanks!

Same here still, have not found a solution.

There is another thread that says this config worked fine up to and including 2024.9.3. However, installing 2024.10 and later breaks it. So apparently there is a problem that needs fixing before it will start working for us again.

Bad timing on my part I guess trying to implement something that was very recently broken!
