Helping Alexa control universal media players

I’ve got Alexa connected through Nabu Casa. I recently retired my Harmony remote and turned off the Harmony skill.

I’ve got my television set up as a universal media player. It is exposed to Alexa and Assist. Everything works great with Assist.

I’d like Alexa to be able to play/pause, mute, control volume. It complains that the skill associated with Television has been turned off. I’ve checked in the Alexa app and only see a single “Television” device with only a power state. Is there a ghost “tv” device that I need to remove leftover from Harmony?

When I exposed my “television” entity from HA to Alexa, I got a notification that it was seen in Alexa.

My universal media device has a device_class: tv set.

Can anyone push me in the right direction to getting Alexa to control playback on my TV without creating a series of routines for each sentence/command?

Aside: I’ve switched to a Sofabaton and I imagine that I can turn on a skill for that, but it seems better long-run to rely on the universal media player.
