Hikvision Access Control — door stations and face terminals, fully from the UI

Hikvision Access Control — access terminals in Home Assistant, no YAML

I have been running a Hikvision access terminal (DS-K1T805MBFWX, door station / face
terminal) next to Home Assistant for a while, and the existing integrations cover NVRs and
cameras but not the AccessControl/... side of the device. So I wrote one that talks to the
terminal directly over ISAPI. Everything is local, there is no cloud in the path.

It covers a different device class than the camera integrations: the access events, the
people enrolled on the terminal, and the door itself.

What it does

- Access events as entities. A timestamp sensor for the last authentication, a sensor
for the name of the person, and a binary sensor for "someone just opened the door". The
Activity log (logbook) shows a readable line, so a door entry appears in the same timeline
as everything else in the house.
- People management from the UI. Settings / Devices & Services -> Configure gives you
add, edit and delete for the people on the terminal: name, employee number, PIN, card, a
validity window, and the person type (staff or visitor).
- Card support, one card per person for now.
- Door control. A button per door the terminal reports, plus an open_door service.
- Notifications and announcements. When someone authenticates, you can send a notify
message and speak it through a TTS entity. There are placeholders for the name, employee
number, card number, door, method and time, and the whole thing is off by default.
- Greek and English interface strings.
- A blueprint that turns lights on when the door opens.

A note on what it does to the device

It polls the event endpoint every 30 seconds. Each request opens and closes on its own —
there is no session, no stream, no long poll, and nothing is written to the terminal during
polling. If you want the terminal to show you as disconnected in its own log, disabling the
integration in HA stops the traffic entirely.

Install

HACS -> three dots -> Custom repositories -> add the URL, category Integration. Or copy
custom_components/hikvision_access into your config by hand.

It is source-available and free for personal use. Commercial use (installing it for a
client, shipping it in a product) needs a licence — that is in COMMERCIAL.md in the repo.

I would be glad of feedback from anyone running an access terminal: which model, which
firmware, and whether the events and the person list come through. Issues and Discussions are
both open.

This looks interesting. I’m not sure if it applies to my door station though. As with all hikvision integrations, I’m confused about how I’m supposed to connect to the door station because it seem it only has its own hotspot and is not actually part of my WLAN? The door station is a DS-KD7003EY.

Thanks, glad it caught your eye. I’ll be straight with you though: I don’t think it will work for your device.

The DS-KD7003EY is a 2-wire video intercom door station, not an access control terminal. This integration talks to Hikvision access terminals (the DS-K1T family — the ones that read a card or a face), which is a different device class with a different interface. So it’s not a setup problem on your side, and the hotspot you’re seeing is how that device is meant to work.

If you ever want to try it anyway, let me know — I’m happy to help you test it, and I’d rather find out than guess. But I don’t want to send you down a path I don’t expect to work.

Ah, I see. It does have video and a fingerprint access module, so I hoped it would work with this as well. Even with the other integration it seems I will have to connect to the indoor station instead, so let’s see how that goes.
