History graph zoom sync

History graph panel with multiple charts should zoom together on the x-axis. However, I cannot get this to work on any of my history graphs. There is no documentation about how to enable this feature, only saying they should zoom together.

The zoom sync feature was added in October. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong?

You got me curious since I had forgotten about this feature. Took me a few minutes of experimenting, but this is what I managed to find:

  • Double clicking on any point in the graph zooms in at a fixed 24h timeslot around the point you clicked. Double clicking again resets the view back to your original timeslot.
  • Holding Ctrl & scrolling up/down with your mouse while hovering over the graph zooms in/out of the graph. Double clicking resets the view back to your original timeslot.
  • Holding Ctrl & selecting a section of the graph with left mouse button zooms you in to that timeslot immediately (like the preview in the release notes. Double clicking resets the view back to your original timeslot.

In all cases above, zooming in on any 1 graph applied the same zoom to all other graphs on the History page for me.

That doesn’t happen for me. I tried creating new dashboard panels to ensure I had fresh examples. Still not working.
Curiously strange.

UPDATE: The history graph must have a title. Title cannot be blank. Leaving it blank will remove the carrot mark that takes you to the full history graph that offers the x-axis sync. It’s very confusing.
