Please post a link to the installation instructions you are using (because there are no official installation instructions for Home Assistant on Ubuntu).
I used method 1
Each step looked like the examples given.
I also entered this
sudo efibootmgr --create --disk /dev/ --part 1 --label “HAOS”
–loader ‘\EFI\BOOT\bootx64.efi’
with drive name corrected to local
using the terminal in Ubuntu.
It’s been over a year since I did my Generic x86-64 install, so I’m going from memory. You say you used Method 1, direct link here:
In your BIOS images, I don’t see Ubuntu boot options for your USB drive, so I’m not sure how you followed Step 3. Boot the live operating system?
It looks like you tried to install HAOS directly to the hard drive? If so, that’s not how this method works.
Edited to add: if you’re using Method 1, when I mention Step 3., I’m assuming you did Step 2 Create a live operating system on a USB flash drive.
this is what happens after the HAOS has been restored to the HD of the Beelink, Ubuntu has been shut down and the pc reboots. at this point the usb with Ubuntu has been removed and the pc should boot the HAOS
Ah, ok, got it…
I wasn’t clear on that!
So when you say “using the terminal in Ubuntu”, you ran that efibootmgr command while still booted in the Ubuntu live operating system?
yes that’s correct
