Hey everyone! Fairly New HA user, first time sharing a project here.
I built a Mac app called Homaxxs (Home Access) — a small, lightweight
desktop widget-style app that lives in your menu bar and lets you control
and manage your Home Assistant setup directly from your Mac.
What it does
- Control HA from your Mac — trigger automations, toggle devices,
run scripts and scenes with a click - Manage your setup — create and restore backups, rename backups,
rename devices, and keep things organised without opening a browser - Live dashboard — see your HA sensors and device states at a glance
- Voice control — say things like "Turn off Living Room Lights" and
it just works - Room-level control with exclusions — turn an entire room on or off
at once, with the ability to exclude specific devices - Brightness control — Command-scroll over any light icon to adjust
brightness right from the panel - Phone Finder — click the phone icon in the toolbar to make your
phone beep - Small & lightweight — lives quietly in your menu bar, no Dock
presence, minimal footprint - And much more!
How it works
Homaxxs connects to your Home Assistant instance using your HA URL and
your long-lived access token — completely safe, as it's stored in your
Mac's Keychain. Enter those two things on first launch and everything
appears automatically.

It's free during the launch period. I'd love feedback — especially on
the backup management and any other admin tasks you wish were easier
from the desktop.
What Mac ↔ HA workflows are you all using? Always curious what people
have cobbled together.
