Since I upgrade to HA 2026.9, YAML editing mode with automation and scripts becomes extremely slow. I recall this issue happened once earlier this year and later fixed. Is it a regression or something to do with my own setup? The editor basically freezes all the time, which makes it changing very hard.
PS. I know UI is the way to go but I have some automation that is very generic with jinja scripts and it’s much quicker to edit in yaml than UI.
Have you tried to clear the browser front end (cache)?
Do you mean you using the GUI automation editor in YAML mode or are you using another file editor like VSCode?
I just checked a couple of my automations here. When I switch to YAML mode it came right up, and editing was not noticeably slow. I’m on MacOS27 and am using a web app that was created with the Orion browser (long story). As someone else suggested, you might try clearing the browser’s front end cache. If it persists, you might try another browser (you didn’t mention anything about what browser/OS you’re on).
Yes I have tried that, still same issue. Even simple selection of multiple lines of code is very laggy.
Yes the build-in yaml editor for automations.
Thanks, I’m also on Mac OS 27, have already deleted all browser cache but still same issue.
