Home Assistant and iCloud Calendars: does it work? And how?

I’ve read and tried so much but I don’t get it to work. Information seems old or integrations changed.

I’d like to securely use my iCloud calendars in Home Assistant. So, I prefer not to use a public url.
When I use CalDev with https://caldav.icloud.com/ and my Apple Account e-mail with an app specific password, I get Invalid authentication.

For anyone looking here;
The Apple iCloud integration had been broken for some time now and the code owners seem te have abandon this project.
