Thought I’d open a thread for the people who met in Berlin today, to share links etc
I’m not one of the hosts, just joined.

Here is the github repo for the remote control (although I realised I need to upload the newest version of the yaml file => done):
Here is the assembly by the way, also shows the circuit board (as that was a question yesterday):
This was the approach I used for doing the layout for the display with a virtual esp device, so that I didn’t have to flash the physical device over and over again to do small adjustments:
I’ll upload the yaml for the hallway display later today and will also link it here.

Thanks Lakini for the summary! I also wanted to post some follow-ups on my talk on ESPHome Packages:
- Packages — ESPHome Packages in ESPHome, main part of my talk. Very powerful both for local development, e.g. have common code reusable in all your code. Or to share boilerplate code with the rest of the community, making it easier to use hardware.
- For that second part here is my package for a Waveshare display
- Running ESPHome on your host system so you can test out the UI without having to flash every time.
- Bonus, I mentioned there is a tutorial on how to do this on Windows, and now see it was written by Lakini! See his post above.
Thanks everyone for the great meetup! Hope we’ll have more in the future!
