Hello, Currently I use home assistant in the house for all kinds of applications. My boat is 50 km from my house, and I have built in a voltage and temperature sensor with ESP32 that transmits the values daily with a pushup message. I would like to do this with home assistant. Who can give me advice on how and with what I can best set this up.
I’d suggest running Tailscale on both devices, so that way both devices can safely talk to eachother. If you have internet on your boat tho…
There is a cheap alternative that I use. I live in a condo on a high floor and I also have a private garage on a low floor. My home wifi and HA do not reach the garage but there is wifi (different from home) in the garage. I use Tuya devices in the garage for lights and I have these included in the Tuya App. At home I have the Tuya integration in HA and the garage Tuya devices show.

I have the Pushover app and a mifi router on board
Push the data to MQTT broker instead (or both).
I got the MQTT connection working, but locally in the house. I want a connection over the internet between my house and the boat.
Port fw using tls or some (free) cloud broker. If you don’t use mqtt out of local for anything else, cloud broker might be good option.
Would LoRa with a good antenna reach? Maybe there is a local LoRa network you could tap into?
