I purchased a Home Assistant Green at the end of October, 2025. Could not get it to plug and play. I thought that my AT&T gateway was blocking the connection. I finally was able to get a monitor and keyboard. I determined that I needed to flash an SD card, which I did. After flashing the card, it started working, and I was able to connect to the UI. After about two weeks of being online and working normally, the power went out at my house. Afterward, the UI refused to load. I did several more flashes of SD cards, with no result. Every time I installed the SD card in the HA, the LEDs would flash rapidly for about 2-3 minutes before the HA would turn off completely. If I have the monitor attached to the HA Green while the SD card is in, it says that it is installing Home Assistant, but it still powers off. If I remove the SD card, I get the heartbeat LED pattern, and it shows on my modem’s device list that it has an IP address, MAC address, and that it is on. However, pinging the IPD address with my MacBook terminal, it continually says that there’s a request timeout. I have also added a battery to the device, but still no result. I am out of ideas. I feel like I am going in circles and getting nowhere. I know I’m forgetting some of the steps I’ve taken, but none of them have had any results. Can anyone help me?
Where did you buy it from? Ameridroid supports the green if you bought it from them. See if your seller will provide support.
Without any error codes or screen shots, I offer the following guesses.
Stop flashing the SD Card repeatedly long enough for the Green to update itself over the internetz. This can take hours.
What does it say on your monitor? Any errors reported?
Is your power supply faulty? It may have partially cooked from a power surge that interrupted your power.
What do you have connected to your Green? All ports.
Based on what you shared it sounds like the Green is working normally, microSD resets appear to be correct, lights flashing and then turning off is what should be expected. If you keep it connected to the monitor, do you see the Welcome to Home Assistant terminal? Do you see your IPv4 address there? Are you able to access port :8123 or :4357 using that IP? For example, my IP is 192.168.1.15 so I access HA via 192.168.1.15:8123, 192.168.1.15:4357 should show you the observer.
I bought it from Seeedstudio. I will reach out to them. Thank you!
I’ve left it alone for over 24 hours now, and it will not connect to the IP address.
On my monitor it does not show any errors. It simply says Warning, Home Assistant CLI is not starting or was interrupted. Then it give me #. At the moment the only things connected to the Green are the power supply, the ethernet cable, and the USB for keyboard. I only connect to the HDMI for the monitor when needed, and there’s nothing in the SD slot.
When I connect to the monitor, the Home Assistant terminal isn’t displaying. It says Warning, Home Assistant CLI is not starting or was interrupted and then a #. I’m not able to access either :8123 or :4357. When I go to each one, it says that the connection timed out.
That is strange, typically a factory reset which you have already done should fix that issue, it sounds like it is not getting ethernet connection but based on your previous comments it sounds like it does get connection while performing the factory reset. Maybe Seeed can help
Care to share that number?
Networking issues? (Usually the case with new Green users having problems) What IP Address is your router? Your Green? The MacBook?
Even a clear readable screenshot of your welcome monitor screen may offer some vital clue.
