I had an issue with my home assistant green past week so I needed to restore it, after doing so I got some issues so restored it again and that part worked great.
The issue was HA could not upload the backup to the cloud, I tried singing in and got the “Unable to reach the Home Assistant Cloud” msg. Restored it and instead of restoring to my latest local back up, from the fresh HA set up I tried logging in to the HA Cloud and still got the same msg.
Any ideas on what o could do? I have not set up my home assistant green as a new home, restored back up or anything since getting that error msg from the freshly restored it is still seating on the “set up new home or restore from cloud or upload back up” screen
Edit to add screen shot, removed my email address from it
Between you HA server and the NabuCasa cloud there are several ISP contributing to the internet backbone.
One of these can have issues and although traffic should be rerouted through other connection theb it is not always the case.or the alternative routes become congested and add to the problem.
I totally understand that. However, if that was the issue, I should have experienced it before the restore as well, no?
The restore was local, so it should not have any affect on what happens outside of my network
This could be the reason, as your HA is not up and running yet
Try to use another Device, and connect through a browser, to complete the setup ( Don’t install/restore with the backup before you have finnished the setup, then try to restore manually through th UI
You got me there, Nope You most likely can’t, i thought you had a “local” backup, and only use NABU as an additional
Maybe you can log into your NABU account on the web, and copy a backup from there
then install i.e Samba-Share, to save it in the new backup-folder ( But if you have run with backup-encryption (which is a default setting, i believe) , then you also need the backup-key
