Home Assistant Green + ZBT-2 Matter over Thread network issue - Devices won't connect

Hello,

I had a ZBT-2 coordinator, which is set up to Z2M. Everything works fine as it seems, all my Zigbee stuff is in my network.

For my switches and newer devices, I bought a second ZBT-2 coordinator, and installed it as a Matter/Thread one.

Now my issue is, anytime I want to add a new matter device, after it finds the device and go through the Matter staff, while connecting to thread network, it will throw an error. Stating the device can’t be connected to the network.
I tried this with different devices, once of them can not be even found after QR code is read.

Any ideas?

(ps.: I enabled IPV6 and Prefix Delegation on my router, but it did not help at all. Do I really need this?)

Just found out, that I think my phone is trying to add the devices to a different network (starts with dw2 bla bla) than what I have in HA with my router.

There was a bug in HAOS 17.2 that disabled IPv6 forwarding which may be the cause of this problem. Try the command ha docker options --enable-ipv6=true, and reboot the system to see if it helps

I’ll try this later.
Any idea on how to change my phone’s thread network settings?
I have selected my network to be used on android credentials.

Unfortunately Android stores the Thread credentials in Google Play Store and they can’t be deleted directly. The most common way is to remove Thread credentials is to clear the cache and data from the Play Store. But I have recently seen that some users that have Google Home, were able to remove the Thread credentials by removing Google Home instead.

Thanks for the reply. I was trying to fiddle around, but I couldn’t find any other way either…
I really don’t want to reset my phone, or delete the cache, as there are tons of other things I use them for.

I tried to pair them with my wife’s phone, but that says there are no thread adapters connected…

Any other idea how to resolve this, without nuking myself?

You mean no Thread Border Routers?

It should work with wife’s phone … I mean you have to use the HA Companion app to do the same credential syncing/send to phone (first make sure HA Thread Integration showing your OTBR network as preferred with “key in phone” icon), and the phone has to be on the same IPv6 network/LAN as HA.

Still won’t work with her phone.
Going into android’s Matter menu, I can also see the old network (hub’s name) on her phone as well.
Somehow her google imported it, without ever using matter on that phone. :frowning:

Within Matter Server UI, the new thread device is also grayed out:

I guess I would need a BT adapter for that?

Yes… that’s why its grayed out
