Home Assistant has destroyed itself!

After a visit to the house by electricians, during which various things got power cycled, my Home Assistant seems to have got seriously broken.

All automations appear to have vanished.

All local backups appear to have vanished, so I can’t reload from backup. (I’ve still got backups elsewhere.)

How are you running HA? Type of hardware, method of installation (HAOS, Docker, VM), etc?

And server hardware. Many servers will corrupt the drive if the plug is just pulled, especially an SD card because it is so slow…

Raspberry Pi.

I’ve just rebooted one more time and the automations at least have come back.

And the backups too. And the last remaining device that wouldn’t connect by wifi.

Weird. Haven’t had to restart that many times before.

Panic over.

I recommend reading about Disaster Recovery Planning here: Disaster Recovery Planning.

Restore worked last time I tried it.

But I might have to try it again because 2026.3 has broken the GivEnergy integration, which is what I set Home Assistant up for in the first place.
