Home Assistant instance unstable

Hi everyone! I’m reasonably new to Home Assistant and learning lots from everyone. I installed HA on an Intel NUC following the method here: Generic x86-64 - Home Assistant

It was a fresh install, hard drive formatted, lots of disk space and currently idling using 1% of processor capacity. Everything went well, however I notice sometimes the Web interface and android app can be unstable.

Sometimes I cannot load the instance at all in the browser (using Chrome, data cleared to troubleshoot), pages time out (cannot connect to Home Assistant and on refresh I am able to load again after a few seconds).

When adjusting automations I see issues, can’t save automations or edit them sometimes and I need to refresh to make things functional again, or errors such as “The automation cannot be edited from the UI, because it is not stored in the automations.yaml” - however on refresh all is working, it just doesn’t seem stable and I can’t work out why. They are simple automations.

Just now I tried to view the updates page and was presented with the message. I am running the latest version of HA core.

Refreshing, things work again. My network is stable with everything else connected. The server is hardwired on LAN, host and client. I don’t see any issues with automations triggering or background activity, it just seems that the connection is unstable to the instance.

Has been occurring since I first installed, config file is valid and have rebooted many times.

Anyone have any ideas on what could be going on?

Your logs might shed some light on the matter.

Thanks Tom, is there a particular category I should focus on?
