Home Assistant location wrong while geocoded position is correct

I am using the companion app. Until a few weeks ago my location was always shown correctly on the map. Same for my wife’s phone.
Now the location for my phone is always shown as ‘at home’, even when I am thousands of kilometers away. Everything is still working with my wife’s phone.
And, the ‘geocoded lacation’ shown for my phone is always perfectly correct! When the geocoded location is correctly shown as being in Spain (on holydays), my ‘location’ on the map is still ‘at home’ in Germany.

I have a second HA running in my flat in spain and there the location is updated perfectly.

I do not see any differences in the settings between my home HA and the HA in Spain, nor do I see any differences in the companion app settings between my and my wife’s phone.

Any idea what I con do?

Also check you Person record in the settings, to see want device trackers are listed there. If you for instance set up multiple device trackers, it might be that a tablet at home keeps sending updates thinking you are carrying it.

This was ‘solved’ by going through all the settings again and again and making changes to the ‘active’’ servers.
I still do not understand it:

  • on my wife’s phone only the ‘spanish’ server was active and everything worked correctly for both locations!?
  • on my phone only the ‘german’ server was active it worked correctly only for the spanish server?!?
  • when changing to both servers active on my wife’s phone nothing changed.
  • changing to both servers active on my phone finally fixed it for me.
    Strange …
