Hi everyone,
I’m having trouble getting my Samsung Galaxy S23 to appear as a notification target in Home Assistant, and I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
I have multiple Samsung devices, but only the Galaxy S23 has the HA Companion App installed. The phone integrates successfully — I can see about 125 entities — but it never creates the expected notify.mobile_app_<device_name> service. Because of this, I can only use the generic “Send Notification” option, which sends alerts to all devices instead of just the S23.
What I’ve tried so far
- Removed and re-added the Mobile App integration
- Cleared cache/data on the phone and browser
- Restarted HA
- Checked sensors and device settings
- Searched extensively online
My Samsung tablet (used as a dashboard) does show a notification service (notify.ha_dashboard_overlay_message), but the S23 does not appear as a selectable target anywhere.
The S23 will receive notifications when broadcasting to all devices, but I cannot target it individually — which is what I need for certain automations (e.g., person detection alerts that should only go to my phone, not the whole family).
Has anyone seen this before?
If you’ve run into this issue or know what might prevent the mobile app notification service from registering, I’d really appreciate some guidance.
Thanks in advance!
