I have Home Assistant installed on a Pi 4. I have a Raspbee II installed to manage my Zigbee lights. As soon as I upgrade to OS 8.0 or 8.1 my lights cannot be controlled. I have rebuilt my system three times to OS 7.6 and restored the backup to resolve this issue. I don’t have any logs to help you look at the issues.
OS 8.1 is a beta release.
You should provide feedback to the developer team by opening an issue here:
Thanks Tom
I see that other users have had the same issue on OS 8.0. I have not enabled the beta channel, so not sure why I receive notifications for 8.1. Thanks for your time.
Then that is an issue you should raise too.
Are you positive about that? I also had HA OS 8.1 offered for install this morning, and it looks like it is production/stable if I’m reading this screen correctly:
Sounds like someone forgot to update the release notes, unless they did some sort of limited release to production and/or backed it out shortly after release due to a huge bug???
Dunno. I’ve asked.
Ok, it has been purposely moved to stable:
@ghulley Have you made sure the port of your ConBee stick is still correct in the config?
(Should be something like /dev/AMA… or /dev/AC0 on a Pi and not /dev/ttyS0)
My lights works in HA - but I cant see them in Phoscon under Connected lights.
Hi AF360
My config for the add-on was set to /dev/ttyS0. I changed it to /dev/ttyAMA0. and all systems were back to normal. Thanks for your help.
Zigbee2MQTT also stopped working for me after the upgrade.
Turns out HA had changed the port from /dev/ttyACM0 to ttyACM1.
I’m only a UI guy and not particularly smart at more advanced Home Assistant use. I have a good amount of Xiaomi sensors, lamps and switches, some IKEA lamps and switches all controlled through a Conbee 2.
When I upgraded to 8.0 my Deconz could not load probably, showed a red exclamation mark and none of my Zigbee devices worked anymore. Kind of a catastrophe since it was the automation and control of my home and alarm systems. Upgraded to 8.1 (I’m not part of the beta program) when it showed up in HA, thinking there was a correction of the errors. It removed the exclamation mark, but everything is “not available” in Deconz and no function.
Anyone knowing what’s going on and if any solution is in the nearest horizon for those of us that’s not advanced HA users, reloaded a backup but nothing help, it’s still 8.1.
@SirOrcrist Yes, check the logfile ‚host‘ and see on which port you‘ll spot your Zigbee-USB-stick.
Then go to your Zigbee2MQTT add-on and check if the port under configuration is the same you saw in the host-logfile. If not, adjust the setting and restart HA (also please read the posts above, same issue, same solution. Looks like some software change has changed the reported port name and if your old config is not reflecting the new port name it will fail to start)
Thanks for responding
It’s been a while since I had the need to edit the config files. Think I used File Editor, but it seems to be broken in my end. There are nothing to browse in filesystem just blank. I dont use Zigbee2MQTT. Looked at the Host logfile as suggested, but it’s a mile long and no search possibility. Wonder if I’m going to start all over… sick🤢.
But thanks anyway
Hey everyone
Have the same issue on the odroid n2+
But it seams like the USB ports are turned off.
nothing is recognized, not even a usb stick.
Same happens to me. Raspbee II with HAOS 8.0 or 8.1.
I will check the port name to check if It has been changed by the OS upgrade.
Since Linux assigns USB ports on order of detection, the port can change when you power off/on the device.
Best is to use the id as the path as it will never change.
Had this with my NUC swapping the P1 USB reader with my Conbee 2 stick a few times
Now i use the id path:
/dev/serial/by-id/usb-dresden_elektronik_ingenieurtechnik_GmbH_ConBee_II_DE2444379-if00
With OS 7.6 I had only ttyS0 and ttyAMA0 ports, and my Raspbee II configured in port ttyS0 vía Zigbee2mqtt add-on configuration options.
Just upgrading to OS 8.1, my zigbee network does not start. Changing the port used by my Raspbee in the Zigbee2mqtt addon to ttyAMA0, I works again!!
Hope this help!
