Hello,
Is it possible to install Home Assistant Operating System on Orange Pi Zero 3 (Allwinner H618)?
I’ve tried to use Generic aarch64 image from Releases · home-assistant/operating-system · GitHub
but it’s not started
No, not a supported HaOS device according the docs. ![]()
Thanks for your answer.
so the only way to install HAOS for oficially not supported devices is a virtual machine?
Maybe there is the plans for new device supporting ?
The opposite just happend. In the past you had a way with the supervised type of installation to have something very close to HaOS even though your device wasn’t officially supported. ![]()
The core instllation method is what I used 2017 on my $10 orange pi one ![]()
I don’t understand why it’s not compatible with the ORANGE PI ZERO 3 4GB 64btis(Allwinner H168ARM Cirtex-A43 64bit)
Not important, as long you accept it ![]()
Luckily you don’t need to rely on HaOS to have HA working on your device ![]()
I’m assuming that’s where the problem lies. That is, the device has a different name on the Orange PI. Most likely /dev/mmcblk0p1.
I will try this on my device in the coming days.
Hey, were you able to do it?
Can you share the results once you try it?
I think they just want to sell their overpriced SBCs. Maybe they also have some sort of contract with Raspberry Pi to increase their sales, too.
Conspiracy theories won’t help. Someone with a Orange Pi willing to port HA OS to the Orange Pi will.
Who? If you ask in the forum which hardware to buy: Raspberry or some x86-64 tiny/thin/whatever-PC most users suggested the later because they are usually better and often even cheaper (widely used available). ![]()
Now even more overpriced ![]()
