I purchased the Terramaster F2-424 with 32GB of RAM and OS TOS 6.0. I executed the virtual machine setup on VirtualBox. Unfortunately, I can’t install HA; after starting the machine for the first installation, the installation freezes after about ten seconds, and even if I try to shut down the virtual machine after 15 minutes, it gets stuck at 28%. I have to use the kill command to shut it down completely. I downloaded the vdi file from the site using the one for VirtualBox. To connect the Bluetooth stick and the Sonoff ZHA Zigbee stick, I bought a small hub with 5 USB ports (Acer USB 3.0 Hub) directly connected to the USB port where I also plugged in the UPS for potential NAS shutdowns. I am attaching screenshots of the VirtualBox configuration because I don’t understand where the problem lies. Please help me. Thank you in advance.
some of us getting old LOL
what does the line say in the HA log
Everything freezes, the only thing I managed to take is the image of where it froze, which I set as the first image.
well I cant help I dont know what the error is
thats is the clue on where to start
all those other jmages mean nothing they are just setting of vr box
as it had started doing some thing.ie booted so that a good thing
need to know what that error is.
In the first screenshot, you can see where the process gets stuck. In the meantime, I tried a bit and by disabling the USB port where the Bluetooth and the Sonoff Zigbee dongle were, the installation was successful. Obviously, at this point, I turned off the VirtualBox since I have no use for Home Assistant without Zigbee and working switchboot, for now, I will continue to use my old Raspberry. Is there a solution to solve the USB problem? In the coming days, I will make further attempts by removing the deep usb hub and just the Bluetooth dongle or just the Zigbee dongle to see if the installation goes smoothly.
basic on that
the home assistant started OK so that not the problem
so that telling me you have not passtho the USB stuff Properly. in your VirtualBox
I would add one thing at a time.
my gut telling it could be the USB hub I had that problem had a USB hud and it just would not play
in the end, i bought an “HP Elitedesk 800 G2” off eBay it only runs HAOS and over the years added more mem and a bigger hard drive it mounted under the desk knocked on wood haven’t done a rebuild for over 8 months.
I have been using a Raspberry Pi 4 with 4GB of memory and a 128GB SSD for 4 years, and only recently I have a memory full problem at 80%. That’s why I was thinking of replacing it with this Terramaster F2-424.
