Hi All
I’ve been running my Home Assistant install in VirtualBox since 2020, never really had any major issues
But my Operating System is stuck in version 15.2
Whenever I go to upgrade the system reboots a couple of times and it gets reverted back to 15.2
How do I fix this?
I would first try shutdown the HA host then reboot the host computer to reset the VM and all the things, see if it will update when it comes back up.
If that don’t work, force it to update from the HA cli.
Try ha os update --version 16.3
This has been happening since 16.0 came out, so at least a couple of months
I rebooted the system many times, always the same result
I just did ‘HA OS UPDATE’ in cli - same issue on reboot 
Try some of these suggestions. Put this in a search engine for posts about bad boot slot.

Yeah I don’t think it’s a problem with the slots
I did a ‘ha os update --version 15.1’ and the downgrade completed successfully
The I tried to update to --version 16.0 and I got the same boot errors as in my original post
It tries to boot 3 times and changes back to the last good working slot
Something must have changed between versions 15.2 to 16 and up for VirtualBox ?
From what I’ve seen ‘QEMU Guest Agent’ isn’t supposed to be used with VirtualBox anyways?
