Hi All
I’ve been running my Home Assistant install in VirtualBox since about 2020, never really had any major issues
But my Operating System is stuck in version 15.2
Whenever I go to upgrade the system reboots a couple of times with the error and it gets reverted back to 15.2 every time I try
Mifht be quicker to take a backup and do a fresh installation. As it is a VM you xan essily do a new install and confirm it works before dropping the original.
I’m not sure I know exactly what type of Home Assistant you are running there.
Different OS might mean different answers.
Can you return what the top of this says?
This would be my last resort as I’m not sure what will happen to all the connected cloud services like Google Nest cameras, Fitbit accounts, EAGLE RainForrest smart meter, DuckDNS, SSL, etc. etc. etc.
Wouldn’t all that need to be re-registered? if so that would be a major pain
OK, that log kept talking about container so it seemed different from what I know.
There are 2 slots for the supervisor. When you update it updates the one you are not using, then makes 3 attempts to switch to it. If it fails, it goes back to the working slot.
I did that
I downgraded to v15.1 which worked on the second slot just fine. And so I tried to upgrade to 16.0 which failed in the same way on the other slot
So I don’t think I have issued with the slots as they switched properly on the 15.1 downgrade
As you are using a VM, you can easily test it with the backup. If it doesn’t work, then revert to your previous installation. Most stuff comes across in the backup though.
yeah, and I’m just looking for ideas/fixes to try
failing that I may have to bite the bullet and rebuild the whole system - just hoping to find an easier fix
I’m having the same problem also with 15.2 but not no a VM. I have a dedicated x86 machine running HAOS and haven’t been able to update. I’ve restarted HAOS as well as rebooting the computer.
