Home Assistant, RPi 3 & Papirus ePaper display

(maybe this belongs in the HW section?)
I am running HA on a Ubuntu server (very old Asrock ION 330HT-BD).
I recently setup a RPi 3 with a Papirus ePaper display for another project, but this has turned out to be a bit of a flop and I wondered if I could migrate my HA installation to the RPi and use the Papirus as a simple display.

Has anyone attempted to use this display already? It needs some code to interface with HA, which I plan to start, but if there was something aready available, or a similar type of device already implemented…
If I move to the Hass.io image for RPi are there any restrictions implied (eg installation of other, non-Hass.io SW; sudo)? It

As well as the display it has 4 switches that can be used for input.

sorry, don’t know what happened there, should have been a link to the product page
Papirus

I have one, and use it with Hass. Here’s the link to that code:

You could put Hassbian on it and run a full Hass install, amend my code to display whatever data. Hassio might be more difficult to get talking to the Papirus, but Hassbian’s no bother.

I suppose the code could make use of the buttons too to swap what’s displayed (hmm, just thought of that).

In my case it’s a Pi Zero with only my simple code.

That’s a great start, thanks for the link & the tips

just realised I mis-spelt Papirus when I searched the forum first time:-P I see now that there are quite a few references
