Hello! I have a home assistant voice unit thatn i have been using pproactively for a few months now, But now it seems home assistant automatically preformed a firmware update and i can no longer get my voice unit to connect to home assistant. It connects to my WiFi network and shows up as a client, but in the set up menu, it prompts me to put in the IP address of the unit as well as the default port of the unit. And there is no helpful, information i have found or any support i can seem to find to solve this issue. I have gotten really used to using the unit a lot and would love to have it functional again, any help would be greatly appreciated!
We can spend time troubleshooting but quickest step is
Connect to PC >> reinstall firmware >> setup like its brand new
After you get it talking to HA again there are many methods to get it reconnected to any automations, etc.
Hello! I have attempted to re-install the firmware manually via plugging it in by a type c cable, but when i went to you the browser based tool, in both chromium and brave browser, it fails, saying it can’t find the unit. i have tried factory resetting the unit by holding the power button for 22 seconds and still can’t get it to connect. I am on a linux operating system, Fedora 41 using Home assistant via Docker, if that helps. It fails to “open the serial port” in the browser.
You sure the usb cable you are using has data and power?
Try another cable unless you have recently used that usb to flash esp.
