I got my hands on 2 devices. Both struggle to connect to wifi, and yes I read and followed the troubleshooting guide about that issue. Weirdly though they do connect to my wifi. Screenshot attached is from during the pairing process. HA UI says “cannot connect to Wifi” and the setup process stops. Even after stopping the process, the device is still connected to the wifi AP.
Any idea how to troubleshoot? Logs don`t show anything suspicous.
I tried connecting through the mobile app and web interface. And I tried different wifi networks, too. One of them soiley 2.4Ghz and for IoT.
It’s not looking like it is actually connected to unifi. Tx rate, ip address, Down pkts are all missing. Go to the settings of unifi, gear icon. Choose remove. First try resetting the device. If that fails try reflashing. Make sure to remove it from unifi again if reset fails.
Thanks Mike. I did these steps already, and they also did not work. But now I found the - super random - problem: my opnsense disk was completely full. Surprising that it still worked. I believe the DHCP server couldnt generate an IP and register the device properly as it simply couldnt write any info anymore. Now it works.
What a reminder to further improve notifications about my critical infrastructure
