Home Assistant VPE: External Speakers?

I went looking for external speakers I could use with my VPE. But all I could find are BT speakers or USB speakers (the only ones I found that are wired have a USB cord not a barrel jack).

Anyone have any suggestions? I’m in the US.

TIA!

But I thought the VPE required the old barrel jack style connector. For that reason, I was specifically trying to avoid USB speakers.

The Pebble speakers have both a TRS (Tip ring sleeve) audio connector and a USB connector. The PVE has a TRS socket. You may need a mono to stereo adaptor if you want to use both speakers.

You can power the speakers from the USB connector.

The Pebble speakers are very good for the price.

Ok thanks. I’ll see if I can find some like that in the US – I’d much rather not have to deal with international shipping.

When I read your previous post and saw that it said the speaker were USB, I thought that’s how it connected to the sound device (the VPE in this case).

It can do both.

They have a US store.

Thanks for the assistance. Once you showed me that (at least) some USB speakers can still connect to the old style audio jack, I went back to my local store and took a closer look at the ones I had looked at earlier. It indicated that it also connects to an aux audio jack.

I bought a set and set it up with my VPE. It’s working great.

I always thought USB speakers ONLY connected via USB so once I saw USB, I stopped looking at the box.

Lesson learned!
