But you said earlier that these devices never leave the house. Not sure why you would need HA’s device tracker, since that will only show home/away (or a GPS location that could be off by 200m).
It’s definitely not gonna tell you that the kids dropped the tablet under the couch, and it’s obviously throwing off your zone count.

You have 3 options here:

  • Factor in those devices being constantly at home, so below: 1 becomes below: 3 in your automations.
  • Create a new user with no tracker for these devices, then use the “find my” app.
  • Create a new user with no tracker for these devices, then send a critical notification to your tablets using a shortcut or a button to locate the source of the sound.
