My Home Connect automation does not trigger actions. I get the error message “Failed to apply the setting: Request cannot be performed temporarily! due to local actuated user intervention (409)” What the hell is going on?
I have tested “everything” of triggers when I physically press a button on my hood or oven nothing happens. Home Assistant shows that I press a button but does not continue the automation after physically pressing e.g. start, power on or other buttons.
Via IFTTT, the automation works when I press physical buttons. But I want to discontinue IFTTT due to slowness and instability.
I have tested the integrations “Home Connect Local”, “Home Connect Alt” and the official “Home Connect”. I have also tested the Home Connect app on Athom Homey. No automation when I press e.g. “On”.
AI solution / answer: " 1. Physical Power Cycle (Best Fix)
If the device is “Unavailable” or not updating, perform a full physical power cycle. Unplug the appliance from the wall for 15-30 seconds, not just turn it off/on with the button. [1]"
It’s not a good solution and it didn’t solve my problems anyway.
And? What else did the message say? I have logged out and back in, installed all integrations: Home Connect Alt, Home Connect (official) and Home Connect Local. There have been a lot of logging out and logging in…
It will happen again. It has very little to do with appliance and all to do with you network.
You guys are have poorly configured network and that is why your appliances are loosing connection.
I’m not 100 % sure but around 99 %.
This was the first time this has happened in about five years.
Currently the uptime is at 217 hours which means it has a longer uptime than when this issue occurred. Meaning the device was connected even though the service was down.
That to me indicates an API issue.
It might be.
I have to do reauth form time to time in ha for home connect to work, but I don’t mind. It is not that often.
Just pull that zip file i put aside and that is it. Beside that it is working as expected.
Of course it has nothing to do with logging back in and bad network. It’s HA and the integration that is the problem, but in any case it does not work. Of course I have tried logging out and in of HC, HA, router and drank a large glass of single malt.
When you plug out your appliance you are resetting it to default factory settings.
If you can connect your appliance to the wifi and you are able to connect to it using android app then it is on the network and it is communcating with cloud. You can proceed with ha integration. if this doesn’t work then your ha integration will not work obviously.
If you can’t connect it to the wifi then you probably have a bad wifi signal on that place, using wrong credentials on your wifi, using wpa3 maybe and this is using wpa2 or something similar.
In my experience most of the time if not always the problem is with wifi connection.
I have a good connection to wi-fi, the internet works brilliantly and everything else works perfectly. The ONLY problem is that actions in HA are not triggered by local presses on ovens, hobs or hoods. I have WPA2, unsure if my 6-year-old Home Connect solutions support WPA3. And I’m not that concerned about security, I don’t think anyone is hacking into my smart home system. I’m not very paranoid by nature.
Actions as in I want that if I press for example the “ON” button on the hood it should change the brightness of the work light and the color of the background light.

Hate to break it to you, but we are all using the same integration, HA and API.
It doesn’t make any sense that is caused by HA or the integration if it works for the rest of us.
The Norwegian isn’t as bad as the formatting.

Well I can handle that you think it’s okay that “everyone” else thinks the Homme Connect integration to HA and Athom Homey works brilliantly and has no problems like mine. Life actually goes on. But maybe there are one or two people out there who have a similar problem and don’t need to point out their own perfect setup?
So basically what you want to say is that your automation is not working as expected and you think that home connect integration is the faulty one.
Maybe your automation is simply wrong.
You can install spook and it will scan through all your automations and if it finds an error he will notify you.
I think this is the simplest and most effective approach.
Wow, you got it! And thanks, I will definitely try out your suggestion. But could it also be that you don’t understand the problem, that you actually don’t have the competence to give me suggestions on what’s wrong? Suggest that you go to the HA and HC wiki, maybe you’ll find the solution to my problem before you answer here?
Yes, i will go to documentation and do whatever it takes to find a solution to your problem.
I understand that you have a problem. But that problem is not related to ha or its integrations.
But im not dr. House and im not accepting pacients.
The problem is definitely connected to HA and you are definitely not a doctor. As I mentioned earlier, the problem is exactly the same with Athom Homey.
