Home dashboard: picture instead icon in Area/Room elements

Is it possible to have the picture of the rooms instead the icon in the home dashboard?

Could you be more specific about which icons you are referring to? Do you mean the icons on the sidebar of the dashboard, the icons in the tabs at the top of the dashboard that represent each view, or the icons within a specific card that was added to a dashboard view?

Could you send me a copy of your yaml?

which yaml? I'm talking about the "home dashboard", created by home assistant...

Are you referencing the Area icon?

I do not have a “Home Dashboard” that was created by Home Assistant, so I am not exactly sure what you are referring to. There are also three different sets of icons shown in your screenshot. Are you referring to the ones marked with the red arrow, green arrow, or blue arrow?

I’m talking about this Dashboard, in italian is named “panoramica” but i dont know the english name  ( I thought “home”)

and i’m talking about this entity, if it is possible to show the area picture instead the icon

But… i’m building a custom Dashboard by copying this Dashboard

If you are building a new dashboard then just change the card to an area card, that has provision for a picture, you can also assign pictures to areas in the settings/areas section.

We need to get you on the right path for Dashboard builds. You are referencing the Area icons shown in the overview tab. Those can be replaced with other icons, but not pics.

Like LiQuid_cOOled stated, the icons used in those specific types of cards can only be replaced with other icons, not pictures. However, as Arh mentioned, a picture can be displayed in place of an icon or used in addition to one as a background image if you use a different type of card, such as the area card, picture glance card, picture elements card, picture entity card, or custom button card.

Which card you should use depends on how you plan to use it and what additional functionality you need. I recommend reviewing the documentation for each of the cards mentioned above, then creating a test dashboard to experiment with them and determine which one functions the way you want.

To get started, after creating a new dashboard, go to Settings → Areas, Labels & Zones and make sure you have uploaded a picture for each area.

Once that is done, go to your new dashboard and add an area card. Select the appropriate area for the card, then set the Display Type to Area Picture. This is the simplest way to accomplish what you are trying to do.

From there, you can experiment with a grid card by setting it to three columns and adding an area card for each of the four areas shown in your screenshot. That should produce a layout very similar to the section shown in the screenshot.
