Homeassistant:8123 url stopped working

I was working on the GUI yesterday and all was fine using the homeassistant:8123 url.

SInce then, I have rebooted my pi with hassio installed on it, and now the dns will not work. However, it will work if I use the pi ip address instead. I assumed my router may have assigned a different ip address so I ensured that this one was set as static. However, this has not fixed the issue with homeassistant:8123.

Is there something I need to change in the gui or vi ssh to get this working again?

I know I could continue with just the ip address locally but as I have a duckdns, I thought this may have a knock on effect.

Did you get an upgrade?
Try: hassio.local:8123

Just tried that and it does not work

  1. Try to enter in Hass.io with SSH
  2. Type the command: ha host option
  3. Follow the available options to check/change what host name has your server

All the commands are available to https://www.home-assistant.io/hassio/commandline/

In any case you can check fastly your hostname with an App like “Fing” to see all the device available on your local net.

Pay attention to your browser: addons, plugin, proxy, dns ecc…

Try to enter in your router, usually, 192.168.1.1 and see if you can enter in your local net without problems

Really strange… today, it is working. I have rebooted more than once without it fixing it but just tried and all was fine.

this is a recurring problem for me after an upgrade. While I am able to access my homeassistant instance via my xxxx.duckdns.org URL it does not respond to the homeassistant.local:8123 or the IP address (I have assigned a static one). Usually it works after a couple or more of reboots but this time no…I went from version 0.11.4 to 0.12.2. there have been no changes to the router.
While it may eventually work is there an explanation to this? Is it something in my configuration that causes this? I would appreciate any help I can receive on this.

many thanks, yannis

You might need to flush your dns >ipconfig /flushdns
