New to HomeAssistant. Eager to learn. Pardon if my HA vocabulary is not yet up to speed. Installed HA on Ubuntu machine yesterday hoping to explore a bit. HA immediately searched for, recognized, and found my WLED light device. HA proceeded to ‘highjack’ my WLED. Lights reverted to initial state. Now I can alter WLED effects from within HA, but my Audio Reactive feature is gone.
I note a WLED Audio-Reactive ‘Switch’ on my HA dashboard that appears to indicate ‘off’. I am unable to change it to ‘on’. Apparently missing a ‘unique ID’. Documentation explains the missing ‘unique ID’, but does not help me resolve the issue. Admittedly, I’m just 24 hrs into this, and likely have a ways to go re: yaml files. Can anyone point me toward a solution?
I’ve never used the sound feature in WLED, but try this: In Integrations, select WLED. Click on Devices. Click on the device. You may see the option in Controls or Configuration.
Thanks. This was a ‘no go’. I see nothing in Controls or Configuration that seem related to audio-reactive action. I was hoping for something simple to ‘get my feet wet’. I feel like this little challenge has dumped me into the deep end of the pool.
Does this work? WLED - Control AudioReactive Enable/Disable Button from Home Assistant
Note this from the docs too
Only native supported features of a light in Home Assistant are supported (which includes effects).
Thanks nickrout,
That’s exactly the code I’ve been trying to implement. Haven’t got it to work yet. Of course, it could be because I’m such a noob with yaml.
So, upgraded WLED device to latest (0.15.0) version. Audio reactive function is back. Haven’t revisited HA to see if functional. I’ll report back in a few.
