I use the HomeAssistant vdi image in VirtualBox.
For a long time now (several months) and probably since some update (perhaps Windows or VirtualBox) I can no longer access HomeAssistant after a few hours of operation.
It seems as if the guest system is in sleep mode and is not waking up.
If I move the mouse over the guest window of HomeAssistant (on the host Windows 10 Pro) at this time, I get a lot of error messages (excerpt from the log):
15:45:07.811398 ERROR [COM]: aRC=VBOX_E_IPRT_ERROR (0x80bb0005) aIID={25360a74-55e5-4f14-ac2a-f5cf8e62e4af} aComponent={MouseWrap} aText={Could not send the mouse event to the virtual mouse (VERR_PDM_NO_QUEUE_ITEMS)}, preserve=false aResultDetail=-2807
As soon as I open the VirtualBox Manager main program, for example, HomeAssistant works again or is accessible again.
Then I get various messages in the guest window (see screenshot, unfortunately I can’t highlight and copy the text).
Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?
VirtualBox had a problem with audio on guest systems for a long time, which meant that they would run incorrectly or crash/freeze.
Could that be the reason?
I have already completely reinstalled HomeAssistant and made a backup. However, the problem still exists.
Other VirtualBox guests work perfectly (Windows guest systems).
Docker is also running on the host and works without any problems.
