Can you give me more hints about the widget? How to create it and how to add in a mobile phone?
Just to clarify—this isn't a native Android or iOS home screen widget.
It’s a new Mini player widget mode built directly into the Home Assistant Dashboard card itself. It’s designed to look and behave like a mobile widget inside your dashboards (taking up just 2 rows, showing clean artwork, and keeping layouts clean).
Once you enable the mini/compact mode in the card configurations, you can swipe & tap directly on the artwork to flip through album covers, and instantly switch to a premium full-screen popup with a single tap on the expand button.
Just add the card to your mobile dashboard in the Home Assistant app, and it will look and feel like a perfect smartphone widget

Version 5.7.1 is a big polish and stability update built on top of 5.7.0, focused on real daily use across wall tablets, phones, shared dashboards, and Music Assistant setups.
What’s new:

Some questions / bugs on the mobile version (running on iphone17 using ha app). I’d like the page to appear like this on my mobile app (this is from a similarly sized desktop window):
But on my mobi device the compact version always appears:
And when I hit expand, it doesn’t honor the iPhone design layout:
So 1) is there a way to force it to always show the expanded compact mode, and 2) is there a way to adjust the expanded version to render better on an iPhone?

Yes, this is something I can address in the next version.
The current auto-compact behavior is too aggressive on the iOS Home Assistant app, because the app can report a more constrained height than a similarly sized desktop window. I’ll add a proper way to force the full mobile layout, and I’ll also improve the expanded compact view so it renders correctly on iPhone screens with the HA app\ chrome and safe-area spacing.
So for now I’d treat this as a card-side layout issue rather than a configuration mistake on your side.
This is truly amazing. I was using a music assistant card prior to this, wasn't happy with it, and then came upon this thread. The product is beautiful and powerful.
I've not tested much yet but have the following quirk:
On my desktop on Chrome I had HA running locally and your card was a subview in a masonary card layout. It looked great when editing with action, player, library and search along the bottom, but when saving and then pressing OK to save the dashboard, the bottom line disappeared and it's like a mini-player, only volume, pause, skip etc. Worse, when I pressed the full screen button, it started flashing on and off, on and off, it was tough to hit the X button to stop it.
Then for fun I changed it to a Panel card layout, and not only did it fix the problem, but in a lovely different view with buttons down the left side.
On my Android phone, there is no problem with either card view type. So something is weird. I'd appreciate a recommendation as to which type of card layout is recommeded.
Also, I'm trying to understand if the settings are specific to each device, each user, or are they global.

One other thing I noticed, I don't see studio or queue on my Android phone but I saw it on the desktop in my browser.

For the best HOMEii Flow experience, I recommend using it in a dedicated Panel view with a single HOMEii Flow card. That is the most stable layout and the one the larger dashboard/player experience is mainly designed for. In that mode, the left-side button layout you saw is expected and is currently the best desktop/tablet presentation.
Sections view can also work well if HOMEii Flow is placed in a large full-width / full-height section, ideally as the main card on that page.
Masonry can work, but it is more fragile because Home Assistant may give the card a different available height after editing/saving the dashboard. That can make the card think it has less space and switch into a mini/compact player. The fullscreen flashing sounds like a desktop Masonry resize/rebuild loop, so I’ll treat that as something to improve.
My recommendation:
- Use Panel view for a dedicated music dashboard.
- Use a large Sections view layout if you want more dashboard structure but still want HOMEii Flow to receive most of the available space.
- Use Masonry only when embedding HOMEii Flow alongside other smaller cards.
For kiosk, tablet, and desktop music dashboards, I recommend Panel view first, or Sections view with full width and height.
About settings: dashboard YAML/card configuration is global for that card/view. Many in-card appearance and behavior preferences are saved locally in the browser/app, so they can differ per device or browser. Home Assistant entity-based settings and selected players may be shared depending on your configuration.
Good catch. On phone layout, Studio is currently not shown as a main mobile shortcut. The Studio/left-side navigation experience is mainly part of the larger tablet/desktop layout, which is why you see it in the browser on desktop but not on the Android phone.
Queue, however, should be available on mobile if it is enabled in the mobile quick actions/settings. If Queue is missing too, please check the in-card mobile settings and make sure the Queue quick action is enabled.
So the short version is: Studio is currently tablet/desktop only, while Queue should be available on phone layout depending on your mobile settings.

I'm wondering if the player name font size can be adjusted. It doesn't seem to be affected by the global font size setting. Some of my speakers have similar names like living room arc, living room pair and all I get on my phone is "Living Ro"
The global font size currently does not affect every player-name label, especially some of the mobile player/list views. Also, the bigger issue is the narrow mobile layout using single-line truncation, so reducing the font alone may not fully solve names that share the same prefix.
Short-term workaround: rename the speakers with the unique part first, for example Arc Living Room / Pair Living Room instead of Living Room Arc / Living Room Pair

I have a few issues that may be my not understand how things work, or they may be bugs.
Selecting and deselecting has always been an issue for me. I'm using 5.9 but same for 5.8.
I select living room Arc and select radio station and play. I then go into the current program on th eliving room Arc, and use the Group button. I add kitchen and Terrace and Living Room Pair by pressing the plus signs beside those speakers and then at the bottom, APPLY GROUP.
Now I want to remove the terrace as I'm no longer outside. I click on terrace pair, and it reverts to the + sign. Yet the terrace speaker is still playing, so I figure I need to APPLY the change. So, I have 2 choices at this point. UNGROUP, which ungroups them all, and APPLY GROUP. That's the logical button, because it should change to remove the terrace speaker. It doesn't. It still plays.
It also still shows 4 speakers. Actyually 5. It seems to have added OFFICE on its own. So I click office to get the plus sign back, and it goes down to showing 2 playing, Living Room ARC and kitchen. But there are 3 lit up. It's making it unusable in daily use.
I'm concused about the highlighting to ORANGE, is that playing? Yet some are orange with the plus sign showing, indicating that they are not playing.
The queue also confuses me. It often shows with the number 6 beside it when there is nothing in the queue. I've attached 2 screenshots.
Frankly I think the grouping interface is a mess. I hope you will look at it, do some usability testing with strangers, and figure out how to make this work, and how to make it intuitive.
I just deselected all. Selected ONLY office, played the selection, a radio station, and take a look...it paired 2 others?
Finally, I often get a message starting with "Music Assistant Requires..." but it's too fast for me to cut and paste.
