I have whole bunch of powerstrips where each socket is individually addressable as a switch. This gets quite confusing, so for those sockets where there is a fixed device plugged in I have set up a customization to override the friendly name of the socket to a description of the respective device plugged into the socket.
Now it would make life a whole lot easier if the customized friendly names could be used to address the sockets. However, this does not seem to work, at least not in the homekit bridge.
Any ideas how to use customizations so that the sockets can be address with more friendy names (without reconfiguring the device itself or its integration / discovery - I consider this hardware layer and it should not reflect assignments (device plugged in) on the “logical” layers).
