HOMEMATIC authentication error

Hi everyone, I’m having some trouble integrating Homematic IP into my Home Assistant setup. HACS is installed and configured, the VM is running fine, and the system itself seems OK. However, when I try to add Homematic, I keep getting an authentication error.

I’ve double‑checked everything:

  • CCU hostname is set to the IP address of my Homematic CCU3
  • Username and password are the ones I created on the CCU

Do I need to enter a callback IP address, or should that field stay empty? Is there anything else I should verify? Maybe someone has had the same issue before.

Is the authentication process able to traverse your VM?

Is my statement correct, and what exactly am I supposed to test?

The authentication process does NOT run through the VM.

:point_right: The VM is a separate device, but it’s not a proxy or gateway.

Give me a tip on what I can try. Isn’t it on the CCU?
