Does anyone have experience getting a Honeywell T6 Z-Wave Thermostat to work in Home Assistant?
Just bought one and trying to get it working today. No luck. I do already have Z-Wave working with other devices, tho I am relatively new to Z-Wave (but have been doing home automation since way back with X10).
I already have the honeywell 'Pro Series' theromstats in my house, with A 'C-wire' connection. So this was supposed to simply be a unplug / plug-in replacement.
It did join the Z-wave network. But I have multiple issues. In HA it won't read all the parameters. I see nothing that enables me to control anything. On the physical thermostat itself - it won't even operate correctly. It runs the A/C continuously, and yet it acts like there isn't even an AC mode. The only mode it will permit is 'Off" and 'Heat.'
It also refuses to leave the Z-Wave network for me to try to start from scratch. Even pulling power and batteries won't cause it to fully factory reset (nor can I find any instructions to force a factory reset).
I did find a web-page that seemed like it would help, but alas I wasn't able to even set the parameters as discussed there - they don't even show up in the core_zwave_js UI. Web Page: Optimizing Z-Wave Thermostats for Home Assistant Control.

Honeywell support actually answered the phone; and the person on the line was actually pretty knowledgeable. NOT so knowledgeable that she could help me with Home Assistant - but she did point me to how to configure the T6 for my specific equipment so that I now have it controlling both the heat and the AC from the physical device itself.
However, it still isn't showing me anything I can make sense of within Home Assistant.
I did a 'reinterview' and it just sits there spinning endlessly (for over an hour now). Even tho from HA it is showing as status 'Alive,' and I can 'Ping' it and that shows success within HA.

I fired up mine before it was even installed. Connected it and played with it (batteries for power). Then because we have geothermal, had it properly installed and tested for "regular" use. Added it in seconds to HA.
There's around 70 entities, but only two are useful to me (temp, humidity) and I simply use the configuration to set the times/heat-cool-auto/temps via automation. Took about 5 minutes. I believe there was a thread on here that led me to doing that....will look and see if I have notes (not holding my breath....).

Looking for instructions on using the HA scheduler (disable the one on the T-6),
I am jealous! Mine wouldn't permit z-wave setup on batteries alone, said I had to connect to the 24 volt power. Hours and hours today - HA sees it; but only 10 entities reporting and all those are related to the Z-Wave comms (commands received, commands dropped, etc). No entities reporting on anything having to do with actual termostat functions.
I've also been trying to figure out if it has to do with the fact that I don't see or have any indication of having the 'Climate' domain. I look for the 'Climate' integration and it tells me it only gets installed by other modules and integrations.

Yeah - I did do all that. I would like to also note that I cannot now 'Exclude' the thermostat from the Z-Wave network. It just keeps telling me that the exclude failed. And, btw, the thermostat is in the same room as the z-wave antenna/hub device - which is the Home Assistant Connect ZWA-2. So not a signal strength issue.
OK - I got it! Tho I can't actually explain what happened. But I got the 'Pro Installer Manual' from Honeywell and was able to then find how to do a factory reset. Which I did. I then reconfigured the device settings for my house and equipment. then I put it into Z-Wave 'Include' mode -- and this time it came in, with all the entities, and I have been able to see and change the temp setting in HA.
And that elusive 'Climate' domain has magically appeared.

How weird is that! Well...glad you got it working; it does its job well....my wife gets manual control when she wants it, and I have it automated so she can argue with it.
