Hörmann garage door via MQTT

Hi everyone,

I got it working now. Unfortunately, I am not sure what the problem was.

I used an RJ12 cable where only the middle 4 contacts where populated. I didn’t had a cable with all 6 contacts. Because the outer pins are doubled (2 for GND, 2 for 24V) it shouldn’t make any difference.

But because it was not working, even when switching A and B (just to be sure), I got hold of a cable with all 6 contacts and I tried that one. Just to rule out any issue. It directly worked. I couldn’t believe that it was only due to the cable because I also measured the signals so I plugged the old one with the 4 contacts back in and now that also worked.

So, I guess in the end the problem was a bad connection at one of the solder joints. The wiring was alright from the beginning on. The problem was solved when I soldered on the other cable.

If you also happen to have only the red rx LED light on solid for a few seconds maybe it would help to check the connections. One other guy here wrote something similar.

Thanks very much to you and @fpschris for the feedback. I ordered my Hormann door last week, which should be fitted in the next 6 to 8 weeks, so I will be getting one of your boards ordered in the next few weeks. Looks and sounds great. Makes me double excited to get my new door!

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum and fairly new to Home Assistant — I just set it up on my Synology NAS a few days ago and I'm progressively making my home devices smarter. So far I've integrated my Enphase solar panels, set up real-time energy monitoring with MQTT, and I'm now looking at connecting more things around the house.

I have a Hörmann SupraMatic E3 (2014) and I came across this thread while looking for a way to integrate it into HA. I've read through a lot of the discussion and I'm really impressed by the work done here by @stephan19 and the community.

I'm looking to buy a ready-to-use board compatible with the SupraMatic E3. I'm not experienced enough with electronics to build one from scratch, so a fully assembled and flashed board would be ideal.

If anyone has one available for sale or can point me to a shop where I can order one, I'd really appreciate it.

I'm based in France, happy to cover shipping costs of course.

Thanks in advance!

Nicolas

Hi Nicolas,

sounds like good progress with your home assistant setup so far!

If you didn't find it already i got such a board in my Shop (select Series 3) - Shipping inside the whole EU

Hi Tysonpower,

Thank you for the quick reply! I just ordered one from your shop — the model you recommended (Series 3 variant).

Looking forward to receiving it and getting my garage door integrated into Home Assistant!

Thanks again,
Nicolas

Hi everyone,

I’ve been trying to get the Tynet board up and running with my Berner GA205 garage door opener for a few weeks now, but unfortunately without success.

The opener does recognize the device at first—it even updates the "open" status and the light once—but then it immediately reboots and displays "bE t1".

Does anyone here have an idea what else I could try? According to the user manual, the opener is fully compatible with the UAP1-HCP.

Thanks in advance!

Not sure if we already wrote via email, but so far none of the Berner Motors my customers tried where working with the HCP Bridge Project, thats why they are now also marked as non working in my shop. Looks to me like they check some kind of serial number or so that is not provided by the software currently.

Hi Tysonpower,

I have a Horman Rollmatic T v2.10 controller/port just installed. Console manf date is 2025. So pretty recent.

Do you think I can use your device with my door?. I can't really manipulate the roller box. I only have (easy) access to the console with the 2 buttons.

Many Thanks.

JC

not sure, i can't see any BUS POrt on it, without that it will not work. You can have a look into the instructions from your door and search for the BUS Port, it will show where it is on the motor if avaliable.

This is a pic of the board. I do not see the bus...unless hidden in the black box.....

maybe I can use the "TASTE FOLGE" contacts with a rele and an esp32 ?? ??

So with that it has no BUS Port and can't be controlled by my board sadly.

You can maybe use on of the contacts with a relay to control it somewhat, but not in an intelegent way like with the HCP Bridge over the BUS Port.

Wondering what I am doing wrong with flashing my ESP here? I was going to use the Gifford47 version and hit a problem, posted as a bug (my bad) and was advised i needed to use the platformio plug in - which i thought i was doing (no experience at all in VS Code so am finding my way by trial and error).

When searching the completed issues on that project I discovered this ESPHome version which will suit me better for home assistant, but i hit the same error when building firmware. Where am i going wrong with this, am i using the wrong bit in the VS/Platformio interface?

If you bought one of my tynet.eu boards just use one of my prebuild firmwares and flash it over my website:

No its not a prebuilt board (apologies!) - i am going down the DIY route. Guessing i cant use the online flasher as there's nothing on there to start with? I didnt even try to be honest for that reason..

Update - i had a plaformio install corruption. Reinstalled, but i still have build problems! Gifford47's is now building ok, so i will keep trying and see what i can figure out as an esp32 option is my preference now i know there is one...

Hello everyone,
I just discovered the device sold by @Tysonpower , which seems to be the easiest way to connect my garage door. I have a SupraMatic E3 motor. I need some explanations, the website says that with an E3 adapter, old garage doors can be connected via a dedicated ESPHome firmware, Series 3 model should be ordered.
So, if I order the Series 3, I will get the preloaded ESPHome firmware, ready to use with my E3 motor ? And is the “E3 adapter” included?

Thanks for any help !

Hi,
My board is working just fine. However. Very often, the state of the board published is “unknown” , the hcpbridge is marked “Disconnected” and the board cannot be controlled over HA anymore. In ESP Home it is still marked as “online” and it can still be updated. So it must indeed be online. After a power cycle, the device is reported again as “connected”, the hcpbridge is marked “Connected” and it can be controlled remotely again in HA.

The temperature and humidity over the DHT22, keep on updating tough. The phenomenen seems to be limited to the HCPbridge only. Strange.

Has anyone this same (or similar) situation. Can anybode pinpoint what is happening here?
