How can I disable built-in dashboards?

For years I’ve been building my Home dashboard. Carefully crafted, functional, and intuitive. Naturally, I’ve called it “Home” - it has every control I need where I needed it.

Now HA has built-in auto-generated dashboards. Being total opposite of characteristics above, it messed up my phone app, replacing my “user created” Home dashboard with the built-in “Home” clutter.

I can rename my Home dashboard to something else. Or, I can re-setup the app, which I did, pointing it back to the correct Home dashboard. However

  • I really don’t need or want the built-in dashboards at all
  • I had to reconfigure not just my app, but everyone’s in my home - and this comes at a price of trusting Home Assistant which I have to defend every time there’s a release that breaks what’s worked

Hence the question - is there a way to disable built-in dashboards

I asked the same thing when they were introduced. The answer is no you can not disable or delete them. All you can do is hide them from the side menu.

Long press/click the side menu. Click the eye icon next to the dashboards.

The energy dashboard can be removed by deleting energy: from your configuration.yaml. This assumes you are not using default_congig:

I tried, unfortunately the eye does not appear next to the home icon.
I can only move it up or down

For me the dashboard disappeared automatically when I set another default dashboard in settings → Dashboards. When you click on the three dots next to your own dashboard there should be an option called “set as default” or something similair. Hope this helps.
