Hi there, I am new to HA, had ZigBee2MQTT before and motion sensors of Aqara. There, the motion sensor only sent a trigger, also a lot of it in short time, when a motion is seen.
In HA, The sensor works as well, but it takes about 1 minute until it gets “free” again, Can I set this time to lets say 5 seconds (to have multiple trigger events) - and where if so?
This totally depends on the sensor. Read it’s docs. You’re looking for something called a ‘blind window’ IF it’s adjustable… For instance the ZWave ones from Aeotec hard limit the timing when you’re on battery to prevent draining the device battery.
So you first have to check the manual to see if possible for your device. THEN if so how.
Thanks, the sensor looks the same, and it seems the right place - but where can i find it? I set up HA with the “Zigbee home automation” integration, no separate Z2M…
Unless there is a setting exposed as an entity on the device page, then you cannot change it. My IKEA Vallhorn motion sensor have two binary sensors in ZHA, one goes from on to off immediately when it no longer detects motion, the other has a cooldown period of either 1 or 5 minutes which is toggled with a physical button on the back of the sensor.
