I have a Ikea Dirigera. I need to change the Device into an other IP range. Where could I change the IP of this device?
It seems Home assistant does not find the device anmore If it get an other IP.
Thats on your local network and has nothing to do with HomeAssistant.
Find your dhcp (probably router) and make the dirigera a fixed ip in the config. These things are easily found on google or with chat/gemini
Yes that’s the plan. I would like to move the device in a subnet for my homeassistant devices. In this subnet this device will have another IP.
Then better remove integration and add again when moved. Devices will be recognized
It is not always that simple.
If it is Matter or any other device that use discovery protocols, then that needs to be handled.
And it is not in the firewall that is handled!

I strongly recommend your planning involve a search of the above term on these forums and read the plight of those that have attempted network segmentation and have had difficulties, some insurmountable.
Yes, plan very carefully, and abandoning those ideas should be one of the options on your list. The fact you are asking how to change an IP Address would tend to indicate you have a lot of reading, planning and understanding ahead of you before you should attempt anything.
Hint: go back to vendor documentation. Asking AI can often lead to very bad options being offered - just plain wrong.

When you read about security measurements, on thing you find many times is, that you should segement devices like printer and smart home devices and computers.
This is also a concept our company use.
Why is it here difficult?
It’s not difficult if you have the knowledge of how to configure and manage a segmented LAN. Most people do this using VLANS and Routers. You also need knowledge about the specific devices and protocols being used and there network requirements. Some are simple like Modbus and some are extremely involved like Matter. While I have VLANS setup and working, I did it because I wanted to understand how this stuff worked at the detail level. I think it’s a rabbit hole that’s not worth going down unless you really want to develop expertise in networking. If that’s the goal, then get an OPN and PFSense router and go for it.

Your company possibly pays experts gobs of cash to design and maintain your network, and use industry robust equipment. Go ask one of those gurus and tell us what they say.

OK, sofar I understood your position. But one Question is still why could I not change the IP-Adress from a device HAS has already configured?
You can, just have to wipe the IP it has registered for the Device, in the respective “reg” file(s), and elsewhere (only you know where it’s added in other files than those HA stores it, as You are the only one which knows your setup/system/integrations etc )
Is it trivial ?
Not as trivial and safe as simply remove and reserve the new IP for the Device in your Router and add it again
And as above is mentioned, if you don’t have the knowledge, dont do it, just play it simple, i doubt you at this stage has any reasons have a need for a segmented Lan
Yes it won’t see the “new” IP if it’s in another IP range, unless you have setup your segmented Lan correct.
if you plug it in again in the LAN it was before, which ever IP it get, HA will/should “discover” it (if it’s on the same subnet )
